New California Building Standards became effective Jan. 1, 2014 - State law mandates that local government enforce these regulations, or local ordinances with qualified reasonably necessary and generally more restrictive building standards than provided for in the California Building Standards Code.

Glenn County is currently operating under the 2013 Edition of California Title 24 which consists of the 2013 California Building Code, 2013 California Administrative Code, 2013 California Electrical Code, 2013 California Mechanical Code, 2013 California Plumbing Code, 2013 California Energy Code, 2013 California Fire Code, 2013 California Elevator Safety Construction Code, 2013 California Historical Building Code, 2013 California Existing Building Code, 2013 California Reference Standards Code and the 2013 California Green Code.

When you call be sure to include the following information:

  • Your building permit number
  • The property owners name
  • The address where the inspection is to be conducted
  • What type of inspection you are requesting
  • The date on which you would like your inspection
  • A telephone number where you can be reached if there are any questions

Building Permit Forms/Applications/Checklists and Information

SCHEDULED APPOINTMENTS ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to pick up permits and submit applications for building permits, encroachment permits, and planning projects.

Regular Business Office Hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. except County holidays.

Upgrade California's Energy Status

The California Energy Commission joined regional efforts to increase energy efficiency and encourage clean jobs with the statewide launch of Energy Upgrade California, the new energy efficiency program. Part of this comprehensive program is the integrated Web Portal, which provides easy to use tools and resources to property owners to help them improve their energy and water efficiency, save money and increase building comfort.
